the marmalade pantry

I finally got to try marmalade pantry with samantha earlier on since there was so much hype abt it ( from friends)

i think it was okays only and it was of cos a little pricey since its set in ION

wanted to try the sandwiches BUT i saw MARMALADE BURGER (so naturally you would think its like some MUST TRY or STAR dish of the resturant) but it was palatable not fantastic

i think sam's crabmeat linguine tasted much better!

then we tried the sticky date pudding ( a must try recommendation from roseline)


and pictures with the cherry blossoms (is it?) at Ion's first level! SUE U MUST GO THERE TO BREATHE IN THE AIR

michael ben came!

michael benjamin,a friend from my aus church stopped over singapore for 8hrs enroute to china! and so i brought him around the most places in the least time available i think!

at orchard road where we sampled the icecream! and i actually love this shot alot, it has this nostalgic feel to it which i cant seem to describe though


at taka basement where there was an exhibition for cny goodies and i forced him to try everything! he is the shyest angmoh i've met i guess HAHA! i had to make him hold that shovel and shove all the melon seeds to take a picture!

then we proceeded to newton for dinner with my bro and his gf

had loads of yummy delights and i was so afraid he would get a tummyache if he wasn't used to it!


then, we chionged to chinatown to see the night markets for cny! since he only tried frozen durians in brisbane, we decided to get him the fresh ones! his first reaction was " why are they so soft!!"

I think on the whole ikoi's standard has decreased quite a bit. In the past, apparently they serve soft shell crabs according to wong and roseline BUT now, NO MORE. Maybe thats the reason for the decrease in price from 38++ to 33++

the sashimi which i thought was the freshest around wasnt that fantastic last night, in fact , mr wong said it wasnt fresh at the end. so all in all ,standard dropped

sigh i think i actually rather pay more at sushi tei than go for ikoi again

ok everything came in 1 portion so i didn't wanna eat pork cutlet but wong wanted so we just ordered ONE PORTION, and when ONE PORTION came, it was ONE PATHETIC SLICE!! So we learnt our lesson and nxt round joel ordered 5 PIECES and indeed it came in 5 PIECES each of pork and chicken. TSKTSK.

this sushi uncle (DENNIS) ok if i remember correctly makes the best california handroll around. Like what sue said, even the one at tangs basement cannot fight! the mayo was prefectly mixed in with the roes, YUMMIES!

i really don't understand how ppl eat shishamos, its kinda eeky like when u bite open, all the eggs drop out! EEWS but yes wong's fave ehs.

i had dinner with stephanie at sun with moon last night, their tofu cheesecake always never fails to make me happy!

still remember the days of p4 when we used to eat spaghetti from the malay stall until the uncle knew what we wanted whenever he saw us coming! im glad we managed to meet up after all these years and realised that we're still the same people we used to know since p3 =)

vernon+steph wedding

vernon's wedding yesterday!

was pretty glad i tried talking to yiling, maybe i felt kinda awkward in the beginning but i hope it was ok , i guess to me it was ?

the wedding was good fun, sat with my bro's army pals instead of the uq ppl cos i had to accompany lingli, so loads of stupid jokes around and luckily i pretty much knew most of them HAHA cant blame me, im a social butterfly, HAHAHA

i havent even prepared my self for vernon's wedding!! its my first friend's wedding in my life, omg i can't believe im getting old alreadyy

im really happy he found stephy =))) woah, i've known vernon for like almost 6 yrs now! he's almost like a big brother to me! my kor's his bestman today and im so glad this pair of buddies have stuck out together for so long! kor has been out of the house since last night , i bet he's extremely tired and stressed out! lingli's going to the wedding too but i'll be accompanying her mostly since my bro is busy helping out!! hope she doesnt mind sticking with the uq ppl once in a while

guohong came to talk to me on msn and asked if i knew cheryl tan in which i replied i do, she used to do relief teaching with me.

the next thing he said was " i just attended her wake,she passed away yesterday" " heard it was a suicide"

the shock that came was overwhelming, i didn't know what to say or what to do , we were both never close but we knew each other we talked if we met each other, this is definitely something i will not understand

she came across always as a strong believer in faith and a good christian but yet committing suicide was the end to her life that God has provided for her. I don't understand and i will never will
